Why is it sad these bikes are made offshore?

To me it’s sad because those people in the video may have lost their jobs, thus affecting their families at home. It’s always tough on the worker when the company goes off-shore for its labor.

If these jobs weren’t sent off-shore, I’m positive that some automation has been put in place. I can easily see where gluing the inside forms together, glueing the shell and the interior, and compressing the interior, could be easily done by a robot. Attaching the strap, sewing the strap together, and so forth, would be harder because it would require a more dextrous machine, but I’m sure that could be built, too.
