Overview
Enhance the versatility of your B.O.B.
The longer 28 version of the Ibex fork is no longer available in the US. The ‘standard option’ refers to the 26″ version.
Upgrade or extend the use of your BOB Ibex trailer with a replacement fork. These forks include BOB’s Pin and Lanyard attachment system, pin storage hooks to keep the pins secure when the trailer is off the bike, and a Fork Through Bolt. The fork does not include a quick release, so make sure you have the appropriate size QR to effectively convert your trailer.
Choose the standard fork for use with standard mountain bikes and road bikes.
Fitting Notes:
The longer 28 fork measures 16.75″ from the center of the axle to the back of the fork.
The shorter 26 fork measures 14.125″ from the center of the axle to the back of the fork.
To determine which fork size will fit your bike, measure from the center of the axle to outer circumference of the tire. If this measurement is smaller then the above fork measurement the wheel/tire should fit. Generally it is a good idea to have at least 1″ of clearance. If the clearance is very close, the profile and knobs of the tire might hit.
Additionally BOB Trailers can be made to work with some Fat Bikes, though the bending of the fork to make this happen will void the warranty. This article explains how it can be done.
The improved and up-to-date 26″ and 28″ trailer forks can be modified for installation on older versions of the BOB trailer by simply drilling out the holes in the fork tabs with a 1/4″ drill bit.
BOB never falters in strength and versatility, keep on ridin’!
