The BOB Ibex utilizes extra space because of the shock tower. The shock tower can be removed and placed at the end of the trailer with the fork for the best fit. For extra protection, hub guards are integrated inside the large tire pocket and a fork block is included to protect trailer dropouts. For the Nomad and City 2-wheeled trailers, removal of the cover and side panels is helpful to easily slide the trailers in the bag. It’s recommended to place extra padding around the wheels since both will not fit into the tire pocket. The Travel Bag utilizes wheels and a rubber padded pulling strap for easy rolling when fully loaded. When not in use, this bag folds up tightly with the help of securing straps. All of the organization you could want for all of your small and large parts makes packing easy, and unloading even easier. A BOB Yak Trailer can sort of be squeezed into the bag, though it is not a good fit and we do not recommend it.

Yak Bag

This bag will hold your BOB Yak with no problem. Unbolt the YAK Yoke, pull the tire and remove the YAK fender ( 3 small bolts) zip tie them in Yak frame. Use some bubble wrap to put your mind at ease and you are good to go! The trick is this bag comes with a stiff liner that wraps around the inside of the storage compartment. Just throw this stiff liner away and the bag zips shut perfectly when the YAK is loaded. If you try and use the liner the bag will not zip shut. This bag works great on the airplane and qualifies as a free checked bag on Southwest as long as you meet the weight requirements. I check my yellow BOB bag separately as the second free bag and then pay the oversize/overweight on my hard sided Thule bike container, but only paying extra on one piece of baggage instead of two. I know this is marketed as a stroller bag, but it works great for transporting the BOB Yak trailer.

Easy Peasy

Have not used the item on a trip yet. We were able to try it out in the store to see if our older style BOB Yak would fit in. It does with a little protrusion, however seeing it first hand convinced us that it is workable. Would not have been able to figure it out without the willingness of the staff to open one up and test it out.
