OMM has introduced several models of the Sherpa specifically for popular models of fat bikes. The Pugsley and Moonlander versions of the Sherpa Front, are eyelet mounting rather than hub mounting while the Mukluk/135mm version is hub mounting. Unlike other versions of the Sherpa, they all include a set of 1.25″ band clamps making them all ready to mount with out any additional parts. The Mukluk/135mm version is designed to work on the Salsa Mukluk but may also work on other versions of fat bikes with 135mm front hubs and symmetrical forks without offset. All 3 of these fat bike rear racks can be paired with a Sherpa Rear Rack.

OMM Sherpa Front Rack

I got the version for the Surly Moonlander fork. It arrived in labeling indicating it was a rear rack, but with "Moonlander front rack" scrawled in Sharpie on the plastic wrapping.

It fit after my local bike shop lopped off an approximately 2-inch shim from the left side that OMM had welded on . . . presumably to make it fit the Moonlander fork? Tire clearance on the left side looks good. Clearance on the right side is scant, but adequate.

Pe-rhaps there are other versions of the Moonlander fork, and this was intended for one of those, and not the one I got? Mine is on a 2013 Necro Pug, manufacturer complete build.

It's still a solid rack, ready for commuting and recreational trips. Having to make mods to get it to fit, and the off-kilter appearance, are a mild annoyance.

OMM Sherpa Front Rack

Absolutely perfect. We have about 450 miles on two of these racks between my wife and I. Installation was a breeze. The only catch was making sure that the band clamps are in line with the arms on the rack. My only regret was not springing for the OMM rear racks as well. The quality is incomparable. There's a reason these cost more: they're worth it.
