The Ortlieb Big Zip is an incredibly rugged bag with lots of room. It measures in at 36.2″ x 19.7″ x 11.8″ and can be checked onto airlines as standard luggage. With a volume of 8543 cubic inches, you can easily fit all of your traveling items and bike touring gear in it.
Made with heavy duty, double-coated, waterproof fabric, the Big Zip incorporates 4 welded-on handles and Ortlieb’s waterproof TIZIP zipper for complete waterproof protection. With extreme attention to detail, this bag can be pulled in a bike trailer and makes a great all purpose bag for transporting lots of gear for boating, camping, traveling and other activities.
Due to the spacious nature of the Orlieb Big Zip, it can be used to fit a BOB Cargo Trailer for traveling or shipping. The BOB Ibex fits in very easily by removing the rear shock assembly. The BOB Yak does fit but it is a tight fit and will stretch the bag outward slightly. We recommend covering the fork tabs as well as the dropouts on the BOB Yak with some form of protective covering to protect them from cutting into the bag during travel.
The Big Zip is so large that a BOB cargo trailer can easily slide into the bag, and there is still plenty of room remaining for your waterproof BOB Dry Sak and the rest of your luggage and gear. When not in use, the Big Zip can be folded down and packed with your other gear or it can be used to add more space to your trailer by strapping it to the top.
