Works as advertised

Won't stop any serious thieves but will definitely keep an opportunist from snatching your pannier while you run in to run an errand. These would be a good piece of extra peace of mind on a tour.

Great locks

Easy to install and works great. My friends were envious. It’s not going to stop a dedicated thief with tools, but it will stop crimes of opportunity. Fast order fulfillment and shipping.

Ortlieb Pannier Security Cables-Long

Got these along with my roller packs. Install was pretty easy, just follow the directions. There are two ways to install depending on which version of the Ortliebs you have. The mounting screws on the bags are "star" drive, not Philips head - FYI. I haven't used them yet with my bike chain but seems straightforward on how to lock them up. Most of the time my bags will come with me but it's more of a deterrent than anything. The cable is pretty thin and can be cut through with small cutters. So don't expect tough security here.

Ortlieb Pannier Security Cables-Long

Its nice to be able to have some extra insurance that someone wont run off with your bag if you leave it for a few minutes. It wouldn't stop any thief armed with a pair of cutters though.
