Overview

All hail the king!! The GravelKing range of tires have struck a chord with consumers in a way few brands have, with a devout following of cyclists that swear by them. In particular, the Panaracer GravelKing SK(with small knobs, hence ‘SK’), is Panaracer’s golden goose and the reverence and loyalty that Panaracer enjoys from cyclists was built around this one model.

The GravelKing SK Tire is the standard version of this model but that is no knock on its suitability as your next bikepacking tire. The standard SK has a puncture-resistant belt to bolster the 126 TPI casing, with a Zero Slip Grip (ZSP) compound. Speaking sizes, Panaracer offer this tire in 3 widths depending on your preference.First is the 700c wheel size: 700×38, 700×43 and  700×50, next is the 650b size: 650bx48 and 650bx53 and lastly the 26” x 2.1 size. For each size, there is the choice of black or tan sidewall and urban legend has it that for a couple of sizes, Panaracer releases two limited colors each year: Flamingo Pink or Pansy Blue tyres.

Everybody loves a classic. Panaracer nailed it from the jump with the GravelKing SK as it was one of the first gravel specific tires and has since stood the test of time all while remaining unchanged. Grippy, extremely fast and balanced, these tires have come to define what a gravel tire should be about.

Versatile Tires

Campfire put these on my bike a few months ago and I’ve noticed way better traction without too much drag. They perform well on the concrete, dirt, and gravel. They do kick up more rocks and debris than a slick or knobby tire, in case you’re worried about your paint job, but they give me a confident ride and I’ll buy them again when these need to be replaced.

Rad tires, awesome PEOPLE!

A perfect tire for gravel adventures, and a smooth ride commuting everyday. Best thing though was the great folks at Campfire. Quick one day turn around for new tires, a tubeless set up and a puncture repair/reseal on another bike, at a cost that was lower than expected. This is the place to go for all things bike-venture in Tucson! Took the bikes on the Catalina State Park bike packing overnighter the next week and everything was dialed.
