Overview

The Fly rear rack makes an excellent choice for the weight-conscious cyclist and those looking for a minimalistic, light-weight rear carrier.

The Fly is made to run on narrow-tired road and cross bikes (38c max tire size) with a V-shaped design that allows for the lowest profile possible while still keeping loads away from the rear wheel. The Fly mounts to traditional rack eyelets, while a single telescoping strut mounts the leading edge of the rack to the brake bridge or seat-pin/clamp.

The ideal use for the Tubus Fly is ultralight-weight touring and as a general use rack for around town hauling minimal loads such as clothes for work etc.

Gram counters: The 25CroMo4 chromoly Tubus Fly Evo Rear Rack ($129.99) is 28 grams lighter.

Note: The Tubus Fly is a specific rack design intended to fit on bicycles that have traditional seat-stay bridges including a centered, tapped fender mounting hole.

The Tubus Roundstay Offset can be used to mount the Tubus Fly roundstay to upper rack eyelets.

If your bicycle doesn’t have upper eyelets, use the Tubus Seat Stay Mounts. These are available in five sizes to fit any bike. For bikes without lower eyelets, the Tubus Quick Release Adapter is available.

    A lightweight but solid performer

    Simple and elegant with high quality. Only issue was that it was pretty difficult to get the aluminum support rod bent correctly so it was all aligned straight. Also the aluminum rod clamp screw seemed to be too long, but I didn't end up using it anyway. Bike is a New Albion privateer. Works well for smaller frame sizes!

    Great product, wish return shipping didn’t come out of pocket in 2020

    Great experience and product selection. My only issue is that in this day and age, customers shouldn’t be paying for returns out of pocket. As someone who’s worked on retail for over 20+ years (brick and mortar and corporate positions) it’s strange and unfair for customers. Say my rack costs $100 and it didn’t work out and I have to ship it back and the only option is $20+. I lose money even with a full refund for brand new product that you will turn and resell for full retail value. That’s just unfair and I will not be shopping with you anymore. Thank you so much and best of luck in the future.
