This nifty adapter utilizes a quick release skewer to clamp a bracket in position for interfacing with the 2 lower mounting holes of a rear rack. This is a secure way to mount a rack on a bike that was not intended to have a rack. With this setup, you can convert your racing bike or your MTB into a touring bike! If you would like to utilize this setup while mounting a BOB Trailer to your bicycle, it will be necessary to use the wider 160mm Santana QR(in place of the quick release that comes with the Tubus QR Adapter). It will also be necessary to switch to a Santana Fork on your BOB for proper interfacing between the BOB fork and BOB QR.

This adapter also works with other older Tubus racks that are no longer available that have flat machined lower dropouts with two holes.  Here are two such racks from our archives:

    Tubus Rack Extenders / Hardware

    I used this kit to raise the height of a Nitto rack such that it would be slightly back AND level. The quality of the steel extenders and hardware were excellent. Definitely worth purchasing.

    Works great! Used with Topeak Super Tourist rear rack

    The Tubus QR adapter worked perfectly for what I needed to do. I had a Topeak trunk bag which is only compatible with a Topeak rear rack. My bike does not have eyelets to screw in the Topeak rack, so I figured I would try out this Tubus QR adapter kit. It worked perfectly and was super easy to install. I also purchased the Old Man Mountain band clamps to attach the rack onto the seat stay (which also did not have eyelets). Just completed a 250 mile bike tour and am proud to share that the setup worked well with no issues.

    Tubus QR Adapter

    I love this product! After purchasing a Topeak Explorer rack for my mountain bike, I soon realized that it was unmountable since I have zero braze-ons on the bike. I took the chance this might work and it worked perfectly. I also had to buy a seat post collar with braze-ons, but with this Tubus adapter and the seat post collar, it worked like a charm.
