After 7 weeks now, I am finally able to ride – and I did. I put the new SPD’s on the Woodstock that CBB sent me, and went to my favorite bike shop to get some new Shimano Shoes to go along with them. I’ve got some new Mavic wheels, dressed with Continental Country Roads on the bike, and had only ridden on them once before I was grounded. I took it easy around my ‘hood, and headed over to Flat Rock. By the time I got there, I knew my right cleat needed adjusting, it was HURTING. Thank goodness I ran into Steve from the bike club, and he had his tools. Like a dork I forgot my saddle bag. Anyway, after the adjustment, I rode another 30 minutes or so, and the pain disappeared. Amazing what a fraction of an inch can do. Anyway, here’s a couple pictures for the rainy Southern Cal guys to look at – remember what dry land is?
