What if 51% percent of people around the world used the bicycle for personal transportation by 2030? What if you were one of them? These are questions posed by Bikestorming.org, which is a bicycle advocacy initiative that was recently launched at Rio+20, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. Bikestorming seeks to increase global bicycle use for transportation to address a number of the issues related to climate change and social justice that were discussed (and largely unresolved) at Rio 20+. It’s the brainchild of La Vida en Bici, which is based in Buenos Aires.
