An Overnighter Tour Through the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge and Arivaca Area

We’ve been scouting our next bicycle campout and have put together a great intermediate level overnighter route.  Our beginner overnighter to Catalina State Park was a whole lot of fun.  We’re excited for this next adventure.

This trip will have some challenges to it. We’ll call it intermediate level and not advisable as a first bicycle campout.

The terrain is mostly gravel roads with some rough and sandy sections. We recommend a minimum of 50mm tires.

We’ll be riding about 30 miles out to campsite 82 and then about 30 miles back the next day, passing through Arivaca.

We will be self-supported and do not have plans for a sag wagon to join us. There will not be water at camp however there is water available about 6 miles before camp as well as 2 miles beyond the camp on the second day.

We will be contacting everyone who signs up for the ride to make sure they are prepared for the ride. Please sign up if you plan on joining us.

We will be parking our cars and meeting at the start of the route along West Arivaca Rd. and meeting at 9AM on Saturday morning. There is a pullout with parking, but this is remote unattended parking.
